WFO to hold General Assembly during 2nd Meeting of the WFO
As part of the 100th American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session, the 5th International Orthodontic Congress (IOC) and the 2nd Meeting of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), the WFO will hold its first General Assembly. The event will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2000, in the Arie Crown Theater in the McCormick Place Lakeside Center in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. All WFO fellows are welcome and encouraged to attend this event.
Dr. T.M. Graber, retiring editor of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, will deliver the first WFO Honorary Lecture, entitled "Orthodontics@2000: A Century of Promise."
"My objective for this honorary lecture is to point out those salient historical events that will help shape our beloved specialty of orthodontics for the new millennium," said Dr. Graber, who is a fellow of the WFO. "Unless we learn from our experiences of the past, both good and bad, we are committed to making the same mistakes in the future."
In addition, newly elected honorary members of the WFO will be presented. In 1995, the WFO bestowed honorary memberships upon Dr. Arne Bjork, Dr. B.F. Dewel and Dr. Fujio Miura.
WFO leaders will also give a report on the activities of the past five years and the actions of the first WFO Council. The Council will have convened for the first time that morning.
For additional information on the 100th AAO Annual Session, the 5th IOC and the 2nd Meeting of the WFO, please refer to the Doctors' Preview Program, which was mailed to all WFO fellows in late November.
