Representatives
for WFO affiliated organizations convene for first meeting of the
WFO Council
The World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Council, which met
for the first time on April 30 during the 100th AAO Annual Session,
the 5th International Orthodontic Congress and the 2nd Meeting of
the WFO, was composed of representatives from each country that
has national orthodontic organizations affiliated with the WFO.
In addition, 40 councilors were selected at large, based on each
affiliated organization's pro rata share of the total WFO membership.
(Only fellows who were in good standing with the WFO as of Dec.
31, 1998, were counted as part of the total WFO membership.) In
all, 82 councilors certified their credentials to the WFO Council's
Credentials Committee, which was chaired by Dr. Mauro Cozzani of
Italy. Below is the complete list of councilors reported to the
WFO Secretariat by the affiliated organizations before the council
meeting. However, some councilors were unable to attend, and others
certified their credentials as substitutes.
