College
of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics to hold first
winter meeting in January 2002
CDABO encourages diplomates and board-eligible or provisionally
certified orthodontists to attend
WFO fellows who are interested in learning more about new options
and examination methods for board certification should attend the
College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics (CDABO)
2002 Winter Meeting. The WFO encourages fellows who are diplomates
of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) and those who are board-eligible
or provisionally certified by the ABO to pursue the establishment
of certifying boards in their own countries.
In the past, CDABO has held its annual meeting in July. To accommodate
those diplomates and board-eligible orthodontists who have been
unable to attend these meetings, CDABO is organizing the Winter
Meeting, which will be held January 19-25, 2002, at the Acapulco
Princess Hotel in Acapulco, Mexico. CDABO encourages all diplomates
of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) and ABO board-eligible
or provisionally certified orthodontists to attend this meeting.
The featured speakers are several professors from the University
of Washington Mini-Residency Program: Drs. Donald Joondeph, Greg
King, Vincent Kokich, Robert Little, Peter Shapiro, Ward Smalley,
and David Turpin. ABO Directors will also provide information on
the methods of examination used by the ABO, such as the model measuring
gauge.
Attendees will also enjoy the location of the meeting. Acapulco
offers beautiful beaches. Many exciting tours will be available,
such as watching spectacular cliff diving, deep-sea fishing, scuba
diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, water-skiing, parasailing,
and visiting the city's marine exhibit that includes an ecological
tour.
Registration materials, including hotel reservation and meeting
registration forms, will be available in July 2001. These materials
will also include a complete schedule of scientific and social events.
Space is limited. CDABO recommends that interested orthodontists
make their reservations early. Families are welcome as guests. To
